Are you interested in providing Product Review Engineering (also known as Material Review Board (MRB) or Liaison Engineering) support in the fast paced production world of the Interiors Responsibility Center (IRC)? If so, this career opportunity might be the job for you. The IRC is responsible for main cabin integration with products that include; Ceilings, Sidewalls, Stow bins

 

 

 

 

Closets, Cargo Liners, and other products like silkscreen, carpets, crew rest, video control centers, purser workstations, life raft boxes, door/doorway linings and floor mounted stowage boxes. Major product lines include; 737, 747, 767, 777 and 787. The IRC also supports aftermarket demands.

We invite qualified Level 1 or 2 candidates to join a team of Product Review Engineers responsible for providing engineering production support to the factory. The candidate will apply their technical knowledge to resolve a wide range of product and process production issues. You will provide technical assistance for corrective action investigation including revisions to design data as appropriate; assist in the development and success of all group/team members; actively lead/participate on cross-functional teams to create design/process improvement proposals for the resolution of complex manufacturing challenges and improvement activities; use root cause analysis techniques to assist in the elimination of recurring defects; interface continuously with customers and suppliers to ensure group efforts are properly prioritized; support shift and overtime schedules to ensure continuous coverage for the factory; and champion Lean efforts in a cross-functional working environment.

This job is all about working with the product. The factory floor is your playing field where you will directly impact production lines by assisting with immediate problem resolution to keep the production line moving. You will work directly with mechanics and quality inspectors to resolve the immediate issue as well as address the permanent change through root cause analysis techniques.

Typical Education/Experience
Level 1 - Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 2 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Level 1 - Researches and builds knowledge of Boeing and engineering design principles in order to develop solutions to product/process issues for production or simple technical in-service issues. Assists with analyses, root cause analysis and drafting dispositions for design non-conformances. Assists system owner in preparation of technical communications. Identifies analyses fleet data, collects and evaluates data on customer findings for product/process improvement opportunities that may include recurrent product support issues. Supports activities to identify deviations that could impact design intent and safety. Participates in Material Review Boards and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). Assists with the design of interim structural repairs to restore damaged structure to original design strength capability. Level 2 - Applies basic knowledge of Boeing design and/or engineering principles to develop interim or final engineering solutions to product/process issues throughout production and/or for technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer. Analyzes, conducts failure analysis, root cause analysis and troubleshoots to understand root cause. Provides assistance to identify solutions. Provides written dispositions for routine design non-conformances. Supports activities to identify deviations that could impact design intent and safety and product/process improvements. Develops routine customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment. Participates in Material Review Boards and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). Ensures supplier and build partner comply with Boeing standards. Represents the engineering community in the build through post production environment. Recommends simple non-destructive test procedures, tools, standards. Conducts simple static strength analysis to validate interim design repairs meet original design loads criteria.
